I moved from Sydney to London in 2013 for the sole purpose of undertaking the Masters in Leadership at the Guildhall School of Music. I had just finshed touring with Big hART’s theatre production of Namitjira and deeply resonated with the concept of comunity co-production. I discovered that the Guildhall had been training musicians to be social arts practioners for many years. I completed my Masters in 2015 and have never looked back.
Since then, I have worked with a wide array of communities, ranging from
patients in hospitals and care-homes, young mothers, emerging artists, refugee women, primary and secondary school students to special education and neuro-diverse contexts. I am passionate about the democratisation
of music-making and believe in the political and cultural power of accessible, high
quality creative spaces.
